With the introduction of basic German grammar, students will learn how to formulate sentences more accurately both in speaking and writing. The Reading of short dialogues and texts will enhance the students’ learning experience and develop their ability to comprehend from context. Through readings, presentations and documentaries students will also begin to develop a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical diversity of German speaking countries. By the end of Deutsch 1, students will have enough knowledge of the German language to converse about everyday topics such as personal information, family, hobbies, schedules, chores, jobs, shopping, travel, and more. Students will be able to express preferences, order food, make appointments, buy tickets and more.
